Skagit Valley has plenty of festivals and events for you to enjoy throughout the year. The best known of these is, of course, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. However, there are many other choices. Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

The best-known festival in Skagit Valley is the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Every April, waves of tulips bloom in the valley. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is basically a month-long celebration of the tulips blooming. Individual farms open their tulip fields to the public for viewing and photographing the flowers. A couple of the most popular places to visit are RoozenGaarde, Tulip Town, and Garden Rosalyn.

A variety of events and activities related to the tulips blooming take place during the festival. These include street fairs, salmon barbecues, parades, art displays, and live music. Of course, you can also take a self-guided tour through tulip country and simply enjoy the views.

Festival of Family Farms

If you're interested in what goes into running a farm, the Festival of Family Farms is definitely something you'll want to attend. During the Festival of Family Farms, host farms throughout Skagit Valley allow you to tour their farms and participate in a variety of hand-on activities. Educational exhibits, gardening demonstrations, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and many more activities are part of the festival. Skagit Eagle Festival

Location: Concrete, WA

Each January, the Concrete Chamber of Commerce sponsors a month-long celebration of the winter migration of bald eagles from Alaska and Canada to the local area. Activities typically take place each Saturday during the month. You can learn about bald eagles, their behavior, and how to enhance your chances of observing them.

Note that Concrete, Washington is a bit of a drive from La Conner, but it's worth the trip if you're interested in learning about, and observing, bald eagles.

La Conner Daffodil Festival

The La Conner Daffodil Festival is a relatively new La Conner festival, having been established in 2015, but it's one you won't want to miss. The festival takes place during March each year, when acres and acres of bright yellow daffodils color the Skagit County countryside.

Lots of events take place as part of the La Conner Daffodil Festival, including ice cream socials, a community open house, a pet parade, and a silent auction. And plenty of local vendors will be selling bouquets of daffodils during the month-long celebration. Probably, the best way to enjoy La Conner Daffodil Festival is by taking a self-guided driving tour through the valley, where the flowers are in bloom.

La Conner Arts Alive

Location: Maple Hall, 104 Commercial St, La Conner, WA

La Conner Arts Alive is a celebration of the Pacific Northwest's many excellent artists. It's been a yearly event in La Conner since the mid-1980s. Featured artists vary from year to year, but, typically, dozens of well-known artists are part of the event. During La Conner Arts Alive, you'll have the opportunity to mingle with the artists and enjoy their works. You can also enjoy great wine and food at the event's opening reception.
